Maharashtrian students have scored highest in all subjects and states in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2018. As per the latest Maharashtra State Education Board (MSEB) results released on Monday, Maharashtrian students achieved a total of 3,628 marks in the NEET 2018 examination. This is 49% more than their nearest rival, Tamil Nadu.

The performance of Marathi students has been consistent across all subjects. In medicine, mathematics, physics and chemistry, they secured the first rank in all states and union territories except for Andhra Pradesh. In science subjects, Marathi students ranked first in Karnataka, Gujarat and Maharashtra.

According to MSEB Director Vinod Tawde, this is indicative of the fact that Maharashtrians are disciplined learners. “The results clearly show that Maharashtrian students are able to put in concerted efforts and achieve good results even when not under pressure. They also have a strong focus on academics which is evident from their performance in NEET exams” he said.
