what are the famous two houses of parliament
The two houses of parliament are the lower and upper houses of the Australian federal parliament. The House of Representatives is the lower house, while the Senate is the upper house.
Each state in Australia has two members in the House of Representatives, while each territory has one member. The number of members in each house is determined by population size. There are 150 members in the House of Representatives and six senators.

The role of a member of parliament is to represent their constituents in Parliament. They can vote on legislation, ask questions in Parliament, and participate in committees. MPs also have a role in reviewing government agencies and departments.
Two Houses of Parliament
The Parliament is the supreme legislative body of India. The Indian Parliament consists of the President and two Houses – the Rajya Sabha (Council of States) and the Lok Sabha (House of the People). The President has the power to summon or prorogue either House of the Parliament or to dissolve the Lok Sabha. The Constitution of India came into force on January 26, 1950. The first general elections under the new constitution were held in 1951-52 and the first elected parliament came into existence in April 1952.
Explained: What is the difference between Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, know everything about the special powers of both the houses of parliament
Both the houses have great importance in this system of democracy. In such a situation, let us know today what is the difference between Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha and what are the special powers given to them.
The House of Lords
The House of Commons is the lower house of the UK parliament. It is made up of 649 members who are elected by the people in general elections. The House of Lords is different from the House of Commons in that it has a lot more power. The Lords can veto any legislation that comes from the House of Commons.

The House of Lords
The two Houses of Parliament are the lower house in the United Kingdom parliament system. The House of Commons is made up of 650 members who are elected by means of first-past-the-post voting. Members are elected to represent electoral districts, and they serve five-year terms. The House of Lords is made up of a number of different types of members, including life peers, hereditary peers, and appointed members. The House of Lords also has a number of ceremonial roles.
The role of Parliament
Parliament is the place where the laws of the United Kingdom are made. The two houses of parliament are the House of Lords and the House of Commons. The House of Lords is made up of aristocrats and is considered to be more conservative than the House of Commons. The House of Commons is made up of politicians from all different parties and is much more progressive.

3.5 billion (350 million years) old rocks in the Pilbara region of Australia are helping scientists to determine if there was life on Mars.
Researchers studying the rocks suggest that the rocks may have acquired their features from ancient microbes.
They say that when NASA’s Perseverance rover detects similar age-old rocks on Mars, they should examine the features of these Australian rocks to see if they match.
The Perseverance rover is looking for evidence of life on Mars many years ago.
Scientists from London’s Natural History Museum, working with NASA, investigated the features of those rocks in Western Australia. They found that the dome-like rocks were formed by ancient microbes.
NASA’s Perseverance rover is exploring the giant crater Jezero on Mars. Over the next year, it will explore several locations and find features in the rocks there that are similar to those found in rocks on Earth.
These are examples of Earth’s oldest fossils called stromatolites.
These are formed by layers of bacteria and sediments a few millimeters in size piled together to form a dome-like structure.
Geologists have found that some of the specimens found in Australia may be signs of early life on Earth.
Kieran Himme-Lewis of London’s Natural History Museum and his team examined parts of a stromatolite and found it to be a 3.48-billion-year-old fossil.
They do not contain micro-organisms. Nor do they contain any organic compounds that indicate past life.
But scientists at the museum believe they can prove the biological origin of the rock.
They explored these rock formations with high-resolution and photographic techniques. Scientists also suggest that such stromatolites can only be formed by the living activities of organisms, as opposed to those that can form naturally in the environment.

A notable feature is the wave-like top of the stromatolites. It is caused by microorganisms that can grow towards light.
These wave-like structures are formed because life does not grow at the same rate and shape in three dimensions (left-to-right, top-to-bottom, front-to-back).
“We’ve seen structures like this in modern Earth environments, and we’ve seen them in Australian rocks,” scientist Hickman-Lewis told the BBC.
A similarity between Mars and the Perseverance rover is that a satellite image of Jezero Crater shows a deep lake in it.
At the edge of the crater are carbonate rocks. It may contain microbes that grow stromatolites in Jesero, which represents sediments dumped on shores.
Scientists suggest that the lake here may be 3.7 billion (370 million years) old.
By the end of next year, the Perseverance rover will travel along the edge of Jezero Valley. It will then investigate whether some of the features seen in the Pilbara stromatolites are present in those rocks.
Professor Caroline Smith, Head of Earth Science Collections at the Natural History Museum, says some of the data found in Australia will help them understand some of the Perseverance rover’s explorations on Mars.
“We’ll try to find it with the imaging system on the rover. But that depends on whether there are stromatolites on Mars, and if so, how it’s preserved. If we’re looking for it in the wrong place, we’re definitely not going to find it,” he warns.
The main purpose of the Perseverance rover is to collect some samples for later study.
Proving life on Mars is difficult. But Higme believes Lewis has created the model.
The layers in stromatolites tell us how they formed and where they formed, Hickman says.
Two houses of parliament are the British Parliament and the Canadian Parliament. The British Parliament is made up of 650 MPs, who are elected by general election every five years. The Canadian Parliament is made up of 338 MPs, who are elected by general election every four years.
